New Poll?

Carib,
We have not had a Poll for a while. How about one for a new name for CMM? A new name has been suggested in recent postings, indicating that it should have the word GOLD in it. Perhaps give three or four choices (e.g. "Century Gold Inc."; Century Gold Mining Inc."; "Century Gold Corp"; ???
CMM's management might get the message.

Perhaps include the moving of the head office back to Canada in the vote as well.

I think we all agree on that one though. While talking to CMM they would also like to have that done as-well now that TAM and CMM are two separate entity's.

Excellent idea for poll question bigjohn!

As mentioned a while back, the only one that appears to be legally taken in Century Gold, LLC, a private Nevada royalty company.

Legally (due to their name having a LLC), I imagine we should have no problems going with any of the ones you suggested:

Century Gold Inc.
Century Gold Mining Inc.
Century Gold Corp

There shouldn`t be any market confusion either as the Nevada company is currently private (and has been for a while).

Maybe one option can be a name without ``Century`` in it, thus signifying a completely new start.

Though, I actually do like the name Century. It think a lot of people can relate to it. It gives the impression of longevity, naturally. There is Century Energy, Century Aluminium, Century 21, etc. Us being Century Gold (in one form or another - Inc., Corp, etc.) is very appealing. New mainstream investors into the gold sector will be able to relate to it.

Century Gold Corp. is definitely the most appealing.

Also, does anyone know the background on why CMM's headquarters is in Blaine in the first place?

I also agree that Century Gold Corp seems to be the best pick.

Canada's Goldcorp one of best known producers in world, so "Century Gold Corp" gets my vote too.

Golden Century Mines, Ltd. (it'll take that long to find a new CEO...! (haha)

Americas Gold Corporation

How bout DISCOUNT GOLD CORP
cause Century always seens to
trade at a discount to its peers.

or INVISABLE GOLD CORP
cause Century never seems to get
fair value for reserves in the ground or gold produced in SJ

RE: Why Blaine, Washington Head Office?

My understanding is that Margaret Kent owns the building that Century are in.

Tamerlane, her present venture, is in Billingham, Washington which is south of Blaine. Ms. Kent's only relationship with CMM is as consultant for a one year period from her departure from CMM.

I prefer, CENTURY GOLD CORP. It gives that sense of "large scale permanence". A force to be reckoned with.

Last comment..... CMM shares anywhere in the .40's are "on sale". There's nothing wrong with "loding" up on the "mother lode".

I agree, i like Century Gold Corp. the most as well. Or for a completely new name change maybe Millennium Gold Corp.?

BTW, could someone explain to me the benefits of having Century move its offices to Vancouver or Toronto. Will it cut traveling costs and allow it to be closer to the mine or is it to emphasize that it is Canadian?

cynikal said...

Actually, i prefer Millennium Gold Corp. because it can give the impression that the company has matured from 100 years to 1000 years of greatness and will build on the name century rather than completely change it. But that's just my opinion :)

Carib:
Somewhat related to polling....

During the last conference call, I was surprised at how few questions were asked. As I recall, there was a very short notice of the call after the NR.

We now have six weeks to prepare a list of questions that could be asked, many of which have been left open ended on this blog. This is where the expertise of knowledgeable bloggers could be applied. (to Production05 with continued thanks)

I recall an unanswered question a few weeks ago concerning the appearance of "fresh" trenching on the North-east corner of the Lamaque property.

For consideration .....

Dennis, N.B.

Yes, questions about the CEO search, headquarters moving to Canada, and name of company are a few questions I've noticed on the blog

cynikal said...

Also as Wingfong said and production raised the issue again "1) Lamaque achieving commercial production05 status by virtue of delivering 1200tpd for the stipulated days-30 days, 60 days or 90 days?"

I'm very interested in knowing this as an investor.

I wish I could edit my posts, sorry for posting so many times. I meant prod05 raised the issue and wingfong and others asked about it too.

I'm a little bit against a name change. Any new or potential investors googling Century Gold Corp will not find this blog or any of its informative posts.

I am quite there with Dennis- we all have so much to say here-why not be ready for this conference call and put the questions to Mssr's Hully, McNutt and MacDonald?
I am always amazed that shareholders do not take these valuable opportunities to put questions directly to the officers of the companies they own (much the way my fellow citizens fail to demand real answers from our politicians). Like so many of us, I am bloody tired of the poor performance of our share price. At the same time, I see more positive things coming from our management than I have seen for the last year, at least.
Let us take full advantage of being able to put our fearless leaders on the spot - and I do hope, Production05, that you will be there for this call. You do the most exhaustive work on this blog, you educate others well, and I would especially like to have the benefit of your knowledge behind some of the questions fired across the bow on the 15th.
What say you, sir?

Wingfong said...

Suggest everyone of us posts the questions that she/he likes to be answered and we have Carib n Prod05 go tro them and select the most relevent and representative questions to be brought up on the day of the conference. Depending on the number of questions, it will be practical n effective if there are 2 to 3 of us to ask the questions in turn leaving the others the time to take notes of the answers and to prepare for the next question to be asked. I believe management is truly looking forward to answer some real questions but somehow not many good ones were asked in the last 2 rounds. This blog is great n I thk we can help management (and ourselves too) build some good conference calls by asking good solid relevent questions in abundance.

Hi Chillby,

Sorry, I will not be listening live to the call. I never do. I likely never will. There are reasons for that, but I will not be discussing them in the blog or with anyone via private message.

As a side note, I also have a general rule not to discuss/reply (to) anything about myself in public forms, be it complimentary or abusive or just inquiring notes or otherwise. In the beginning I was very forthcoming due to my efforts to help others. Unfortunately, there are all types of people in the world - some (especially one) made it his full-time job as my personal abuser and borderline stalker.

It is one of the reasons Carib, Natik and I initiated this blog.

I'm not big on polls where there is no outcome to compare the poll to. Voting on a selection of name changes when they is no will on the part of the company to make a change doesn't serve much purpose.

However I've decided to add a poll to gauge the blog readers' interest in a name change that includes the word "Gold" and if there is overwhelming consenus on the desire for a name change, maybe the company will consider it.

I think we should get up a petition to draft production05 to get onto the next CC and ask all of the key questions! He is the one that should be asking them - no?

Who better than the guy that has done all of the analysis and posted it all here?

DRAFT PRODUCTION05 FOR THE CONFERENCE CALL!

production05,

Wow, it's surprising what people will do these days. Makes you wonder if they even have a job because they can harass you 24/7 and makes you wonder if they have anything else to do.

Besides that, thanks again for all your research and insight, having someone like you following the stock is a huge rarity that i'm glad i found. :)

Thanks for understanding Chillby.
