Simkar - this property is only about 2 to 4 KMs away from our Sigma II property

It has been announced that the Simkar gold property, J/V between Eloro Resources and Megastar, hit some pretty good exploration holes. The Simkar property has a small historical resource base which they are attempting to upgrade and expand. It was a tiny producer a long time ago. It is located only 2 to 4 kilometres away from Century`s Sigma II property, in Louvicourt.

Fyi, I personally do not own any shares in Eloro or Megastar and I do not have any current plans to purchase any. This post is just a note on the Simkar property due to the proximity to our Sigma II property.

As you know, Sigma II is located about 20 kilometers away from Lamaque, within trucking distance. In the late 80s (or 90s - I can`t remember), Placer Dome mined 155,000 ounces @ 2.67 g/t from Sigma II and trucked it to the Lamaque (Sigma) mill for processing - I think this was during a US$325 - US$425 gold price period. Sigma II is still open at depth today, but requires exploration work to establish the resource base and grades at depth and to assess if it is economically viable. The Sigma II property is about 4 Km2 in size, which is relatively large.

Today`s positive Simkar result is likely an encouraging development for properties in the area. It`s especially interesting for our Sigma II property, as it is already a proven gold producer (with good grades) and we already know that the mineralization is open at depth.

Today`s results at Simkar is at depth on that property, about 2 to 4 kilometres away. Century should poke a couple of test holes at Sigma II also, to see what we have at depth. The 155,000 ounces produced previously were from the open pit. If the depth of the remaining mineralization is still shallow enough then Century might have a choice between open pit or u/g mining, especially if the gold price stays at current levels. It`s certainly worth a bit of mapping, some sample work and a couple of test holes (if sufficient data is available to build a basic exploration test plan) - maybe once Lamaque is up and running smoothly.

Anyway, it`s likely worth keeping an eye on the Simkar exploration program - to assess how promising the area might be.
